A funeral service for Lewis Woodard, age 85, of Miller Grove will be conducted at County Line Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 24, 2013, with Rev. Danny Calk officiating. Interment will follow at Clifton Cemetery, with Chad Neal, Brad Neal, Mac Garrett, Mark Garrett, Brett Garrett, Mark Sims, Brady Neal and Trenton Neal serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Sims, Billy Lynn, Octave Woods, Lewis Watts, Edward Watts and Junior Dickens. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Lewis Woodard passed away Thursday morning, November 21, 2013 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Divide, December 10, 1927, the son of B. W. Woodard and Edna (Morris) Woodard. He married Bobbie Ruth Garrett in Sulphur Springs on July 27, 1946; she survives. He was a dairy farmer and truck driver. He was a member of County Line Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: daughter, Holly Neal and husband Cliff of Saltillo; son, Michael Woodard of Miller Grove; two grandsons, Chad Neal and wife Dena of Saltillo and Brad Neal and wife D'Laine of Scroggins; great-grandchildren, Chanda Neal, Cheyenne Neal, Dacey Neal, Jocee Neal, Brady Neal and Trenton Neal; brother-in-law, Mac Garrett and wife Sandra of Miller Grove; sister-in-law, Sue Sims and husband, Kenneth of Corsicana; nieces, Robin Middleton and Tammy Burrows and nephews, Mark Garrett, Brett Garrett and Mark Sims. He was preceded in death by his parents.
