Letra Penny

Funeral services for Letra May Penny, age 72 of Holly Lake Ranch, formerly of Sulphur Springs will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Donald Smith and Pastor Kenneth Rhoades officiating. Interment will follow at Sherley Cemetery with Jeramy Rawson, Eric Rawson, Luke Penny, Michael Vititow, Shane Fite and Chase Fite serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.

Letra passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at East Texas Medical Center in Quitman. She was born on May 18, 1943 in Columbus, OH, the daughter of Frank and Evelyn Maude (Kelso) Rodecker. She married Wilburn Ray Penny on June 18, 1960 in Irving. He preceded her in death in 2013. She was a retired chief operator for the City water treatment plant and a member of Central Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Frank Penny and wife, Omie of Mt. Vernon; daughters, Laura Smith and husband, Donald of Holly Lake Ranch, Brenda Smith and husband, Robert of Sulphur Springs and Lisa Crayton and husband, Russell of Midlothian; six grandchildren, David Penny, Jeramy Rawson, Eric Rawson, Luke Penny, Dylan Crayton and Shane Fite; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Michael Rodecker and wife, Carroll of Providence, RI, Pat Rodecker and wife, Kathy of Statesville, N.C., Jay Shook and wife, April of Norman, OK; and sisters, Apryl Cordell of Altamonte Springs, FL and Linda Bell of McKinney.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and one sister.
