Leola Horton

A funeral service for Leola Horton, age 71, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Fred Lewis and Rev. Tommy Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, with Wylie Martin, Scott Singleton, Jimmy Mangus, David Allen, Edwin Patterson and Jeff Millsap serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Leola Horton passed away Friday morning, May 31, 2013 , at Carriage House Manor Cottages. She was born in Winnsboro, the daughter of Malcom Curtis and Elah Mae Meadows. She was a retired clerk from the Texas Department of Health and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: daughter, Liz Allen and husband Mike of Sulphur Springs; son, Larry Horton of Lewisville; sister, Rosa Lee Chamberlain; brother, Curtis Meadows, both of Sulphur Springs and grandchildren M. Hunter Allen and Harrison Allen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Carroll Horton in 1973.
