Leasure Minter

January 2, 1914 — February 1, 2015

Funeral Services for Leasure "Fuzzy" Minter, age 101 of Mt. Vernon, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Mt. Vernon Church of Christ with Richard Rutledge and Chip Horton officiating. Interment will follow in the East Caney Cemetery with Bertrum Isabell, Will Ramsay, Dorce "Bud" Finne and Ronnie Stoker serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Willie Conley, her grandsons, great-grandsons and great-great-grandsons. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., prior to the service at the church.

Leasure "Fuzzy" died on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Mission Manor in Mt. Vernon. She served as a personal caregiver for many decades before her retirement.

She was born on January 2, 1914, the daughter of Douglas and Fannie Vaughn Ransom, in Pine Forest, TX. She married Milton "Sam" Minter on December 2, 1964 in Saltillo, TX. He preceded her in 2001.

Survivors include: son, Willie James Conley of Mt. Vernon; sister, Hazel Lee Hatcher of Pine Forest, TX; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, first husband, Jack Conley, sons, Marion Conley, Eurie Conley and sister, Etta Moten.

Memorials may be directed to the Mt. Vernon Church of Christ to benefit children's summer bible camp registration for Camp Ida.
