Funeral services for Rev. L. E. Richardson, age 98, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 8, 2009, with Rev. A. L. Davis and Richard Diehm officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, with Rodney Crowson, Anthony Alcorn, David Alcorn, Bryan Bell, Dirk Richardson and Dennis Richardson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Dean Howell. Visitation will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2009.
Rev. L. E. Richardson passed away Thursday morning, February 5, 2009, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Whitesboro, on October 28, 1910, the son of Jesse N. and Pearl Udora Branch Richardson. He married Opal Mae Young at Dike, on January 2, 1932; she survives. Rev. Richardson was retired from Shell Oil Company, after 33 years, and he was a Church of God minister. He was a member of Grace Family Church.
Other survivors include: two sons, Jerry Richardson of Royse City and Richard Diehm of Pittsburg; two daughters, Barbara Brown of Sulphur Springs and Mary Alcorn of Yantis; 12 grandchildren, Rodney M. Crowson, Rebecca Crowson, Melinda Bell, Bryan Bell, Anthony Alcorn, David Alcorn, Terese Marsland, Heather Richardson, Dirk Richardson, Keri Richardson, Dennis Richardson, Shannon Richardson; 15 great-grandchildren, Shelby Carline Crowson, Adam Joseph Hucklebee, Jason Randell Hucklebee, Micah Hunter Hucklebee, Johnny Victor Bell, Kaelee Rae Bell, Jackie Beau Alcorn, Tanner Lane Alcorn, Kai Ray Alcorn, Marco Bruno Tibolla, Nathan Marsland, Brenna Robnett, Ryder Rodriguz, Trevor Rodriguz and Isabella Troguille; two great-great-grandchildren, Jacqulyne Alcorn and Aiden Hucklebee. He was preceded in death by daughter, Patsy Ruth Bell and three sisters, Lola Griffin, Oma Jones and Hazel Morgan.
