Kenneth Spencer

Funeral service for Kenneth Spencer, age 75, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Shannon Gammill and Toney Hurley officiating. Interment will follow at North Hopkins Cemetery with Shane Gammill, Johnathon Gammill, Hardy Coston, Kenny Crowson, L.J. Massey, Jerry Spencer, Alan Spencer and Tommy Dickens serving as pallbearers and Joe Jennings, Mike Flippin, Charles Murray, Billy Campbell and Ben Jennings serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel. Mr. Spencer passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Carriage House Manor surrounded by his loving family.

Kenneth Ray Spencer was born on July 15, 1942 in Sulphur Springs, to Dow and Mozelle Spencer. He married, Billie Cannon on December 25, 1961 in Como, TX and were married for 56 years. Throughout his life, Kenneth served in the Texas National Guard, 49th Infantry Division, was employed by TP & L for 11 years before going into the dairy business for 22 years. He was also a fishing guide and truck driver. He loved horses, fishing, painting, and especially his grandchildren. Kenneth was a member of The Church of Christ.

He is survived by the love of his life, Billie; daughter, Lisa Spencer-Gammill and husband, Shannon of Saltillo; son, Kevin Spencer and wife, Annette of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Johnathon Gammill and Shelby, Shane Gammill and Cassie, Kadi Gammill and Justin, Bailey Spencer; great grandchildren, Jackson, Jenner, Jude, Laine, Spencer and Kaden; sister, Linda Keltner and Delton of Tatum; niece, Lisa Sullivan.

The family wishes to express their love and appreciation to all the staff at Carriage House Manor for the care and love given to Kenneth during his 8 years there. Also, a big thank you to Legacy Hospice and Liz for always being by our side. May God bless each of you.
