Lillian June Anderson died peacefully at home in Sulphur Springs on October 24, 2014 after a long illness. She was born on October 10, 1933 in Wood County, the seventh of eight children, to parents Perry and Era Gilbreath. She graduated from Yantis High School in 1951 then moved to Dallas where she worked first for the phone company and later for the Dallas Public Library. She married Arlon Anderson on August 29, 1952 and they enjoyed nearly fifty-nine years together until his passing three years ago. She is survived by her son, Michael Anderson of Plano; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Richard Rossignol of Lone Oak; granddaughter, grandson-in-law and great-granddaughter, Marissa, Michael and Addyson Smith of Fate; brother, Wayne Gilbreath of Quitman; sister, Eldavada Gilbreath of Yantis, sister, Jessie Witt of Quitman, sister, Luella Bevill of Sulphur Springs and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Wesley Methodist Church for over thirty-four years and will be remembered for her love of quilting, her volunteer work, her willingness to help those in need and her love of little children.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Services will be held at Wesley Methodist Church on Monday, October 27, 2014 at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Steve Cook and Lee Gilbreath officiating. Burial will follow at Yantis Cemetery with Melvin Anderson, V.D. Romans, Lee Gilbreath, Michael Smith, James Buck and Don Hardin serving as pallbearers.
