Funeral service for Judy Kay Sinclair Wetzel, age 74, of Como, Texas will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Como, Texas, where she attended church, with Nick Tovar officiating. Interment will follow at Monticello Woodmen Cemetery (aka Woodmen of the World Cemetery) in Titus County with Milton Wetzel Jr., Brian Wetzel, Chad Wetzel, Tabitha Gattis, Johnny Wetzel III, Audrey Gattis, Kayla Gattis, and Tyrene Wetzel serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include Jennifer Wetzel, Samantha Wetzel, Tracy Wetzel, Jackie Barker, Elizabeth Walker, and Rain Wetzel. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Mrs. Wetzel passed away at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs, Texas on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
Judy Kay Sinclair Wetzel was born on June 16, 1950 in Farmersville, Texas to Roy and Lena Loretta (Harper) Sinclair. She married Johnny Mack Wetzel Sr. in Newsom, Texas on February 3, 1967 and they were happily married for 58 years. Judy went to Beauty School and then also worked as an Assembler for Custom Shutters. She was the Queen of all trades. Judy was a kind, talented, and loving Mom. She was an amazing wife and Nanna, was very hardworking, and a fantastic cook. Her favorite thing was when the entire family was together. They were her main priority, and she would do anything for them.
Judy is survived by her husband, Johnny Wetzel Sr.; children, Johnny Wetzel Jr. and his wife Sharron, Milton Wetzel, Felecia Wetzel, Christina Gattis and her husband Tim, and Roy Wetzel and his wife Deborah. As well as 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother Floyd Sinclair; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Lena Sinclair; four sisters; one brother; daughter-in-law Delana; grandson William Travis Barker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
