Joyce McDonald

Funeral service for Joyce McDonald, age 88 of Sulphur Springs, TX will be held at 3:00P.M. on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Shane Carrington officiating. Interment will follow at Reilly Springs Cemetery with Jeremy Jones, Chad Jones, Michael Lawrence, Danny Lawrence, Cody Kirby and Cole Roan serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Mrs. McDonald passed away on November 18, 2021 at her residence.

Joyce was born on December 2, 1932 in Oakwood, TX to Thurman and Elma (Chancellor) Crouch. She married Phillip Morris “Pete” McDonald on March 12, 1954 in Sulphur Springs, TX. Joyce owned and operated McDonalds Grocery and Feed. She was a longtime leader in 4-H, PTO and an active Bible Class teacher for many years. Joyce was a member of the South Side Church of Christ.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy Jones and husband, Marlin and Jan Lawrence and husband, David; grandchildren, Jeremy Jones, Chad Jones and wife, Laura, Michael Lawrence and wife, Jandi, Dr. Danny Lawrence and wife, Shannon, Abby Kirby and husband, Cody, Jacy Roan and husband, Cole; great-grandchildren, Landri and Sam Lawrence; Kobi, Reagan, and Ellie Kirby; Jadi and Marli Jones; Anndi Jones; Hallie and Sadie Lawrence; Case and Jaxson Roan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Bobby McDonald; grandsons, Jason Lawrence and Colton Heinrich; great-grandson, Jax Kirby; and brother, Melvin Crouch.
