Funeral services for Joyce Allen, 72, of Sulphur Springs will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 19, 2008 at Davis Street Baptist Church with Bro. Tommy Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Seymore Cemetery . Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 pm, Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Joyce Ann Allen passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. She was born on March 2, 1936 in Yantis, Texas, the daughter of Roy and Mattie Patridge Pounds. Joyce married Kenneth "Curley" Allen on June 19, 1954 in Sulphur Springs. He survives. She retired from Sulphur Springs Loan and Building, and was a member of the Davis Street Baptist Church.
Other survivors included; one son, Kenneth Randy Allen of Sulphur Springs; one daughter, Vicki Corder of Sulphur Springs; two grandchildren, Leslie Patton and Autumn Cotten; five great-grandchildren, Cade Patton, Jada Patton, Kloee Cotten, Taelor Rogers, and Taryn Cotten.
She was preceded in death; her father, Roy Pounds; mother, Mattie Brown; and one brother, Billy Pounds.
Memorials may be made to the Davis Street Baptist Church.
