Joy Herman

Funeral service for Joy Herman, age 91, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Bro. Paul Bailey. Interment will follow at Old Tarrant Cemetery with Scotty Stewart, Reid Stewart, Huck McCormack, Kenny Crowson, Wayne Hinton, Trey Hinton, Roger Herman and Bennie Herman serving as pallbearers.  Serving as honorary pallbearers are Roy Herman Jr., Jerry Don Gibby, Jimmy Don Goldsmith, Sam Stewart and Bob Williams.  Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.  Mrs. Herman passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 at Wesley House Assisted Living.

Joy was born on December 21, 1928 in Chester, Texas to James and Mattie Clifton.  She married Randall Herman on June 14, 1947, in Ft. Worth Texas, he preceded her in death in 1990.  Joy worked as a school secretary in the Richardson ISD until her retirement when she moved to Birthright, Texas. She was a member of Birthright United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Stewart; grandchildren, Scotty Stewart, Andi Hinton and husband, Trey; great grandchildren, Hallie Hinton, Wayne Hinton, Avery Hinton and Reid Stewart.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bobby Frank Clifton; sisters, Glendolyn Graham and  Barbara Peden.
