Johnny Weir

Funeral services for Johnny Weir, age 52, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at Tira United Methodist Church, at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 1, 2011, with Rev. Leroy Reeves officiating. Interment will follow at Tira Cemetery, with Joe Killian, Al Mirick, Nick Killian, Phillip Mirick, Jason Tucker and Kenny Campbell serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 31, 2011 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Johnny Weir passed away Saturday, January 29, 2011, at his residence. He was born in Fort Worth on June 1, 1958, the son of Sammie Jack Weir, Sr. and Joan Grace (Lindberg) Weir. Mr. Weir was a retired mechanic for Gober-Merrill Chevrolet.
Survivors include: son, Blake Weir; daughter, Katie Rueter, both of Austin; mother, Joan Melton of Sulphur Springs; two sisters, Charlotte Killian of Cumby and Sharon Mirick of Longview and brother, Sammy J. Weir, Jr. of Sulphur Springs. He was preceded in death by his father in 1978.
