Johnnie Rawson

Funeral services for Johnnie Gibbins Rawson, age 85, of Sulphur Springs, were held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 19, 2008, with Rev. Charles Ethridge officiating. Interment followed at Shooks Chapel Cemetery with Tommy Rawson, Chad Rawson, Leslee Rawson, Michael Rawson, David Rawson, Gary Crowell, Stan Heaps and Chris Gibbins serving as pallbearers. The deacons of Pine Street Baptist Church will be honorary pallbearers.
Johnnie Gibbins Rawson passed away at Sulphur Springs Health & Rehab., Saturday afternoon, October 18, 2008. She was born in the Union Community, on December 15, 1922, the daughter of George W. and Iris Hatchel Gibbins. She married R. L. Rawson in Sulphur Springs, on July 27, 1940. He preceded her in death in 2008. Mrs. Rawson was a retired dairy farmer and homemaker. She was a member of Pine Street Baptist Church in Winnsboro.
Survivors include: brother, G. W. Gibbins and wife, Carolyn; brother-in-law, Jean Rawson and wife, Velma, all of Sulphur Springs; nephew Chris Gibbins and wife Scarlett and Mollie; niece, Judy Heaps and husband Stan, and family; nephews, Tommy Rawson and wife, Carolyn and family, Michael Rawson and wife Mary Ann and family and special couple, E. J. and Patsy Morris of Winnsboro. She was preceded in death by daughter, Linda Rawson Lawson and two sisters, Billie McCormack and Shirley Gibbins. Memorials may be made to Pine Street Baptist Church Building Fund.
