John Silvestri

John Joseph Silvestri, Sr. was born on July 6, 1938, the son of Carmine and Aida (Minieri) Silvestri, in Brooklyn, NY. He married Benita (Childs) Silvestri on October 7, 1992 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. John served in the United States Army, owned and operated gas stations and auto repair shops in New York and Florida, served as an Automotive Expert Member of the State of Florida's New Motor Vehicle Arbitration Board ("Lemon Board"), and worked for FEMA before finally retiring to Texas. He spent the final decade of his life enjoying his family, friends, dogs, hobbies, and the beauty of nature.

He is survived by his wife, Benita Silvestri; daughter, Joni Silvestri; son, John Silvestri Jr (Ammie); stepsons, Scott Brandt and Mark Brandt (Karen); grandchildren, Danica Silvestri, Nicolas Silvestri, Taylor Brandt, Madison Brandt and Carson Brandt; sisters, Mary Sheridan (Jimmy) and Sue Cotela; brother, Edward Silvestri (Lauren); sisters-in-law Carol Silvestri and Rosemary Silvestri; brothers-in-law Michael Childs (Judy) and Dennis Childs (Faye); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Thomas Silvestri and Joseph Silvestri.
