John Hodnett

A memorial service for John T. "Bob" Hodnett, age 90, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2009, with Rev. Jim Barksdale officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
John T. "Bob" Hodnett passed away Sunday night, November 1st, 2009 at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab. He was born in Thorton, Arkansas, on May 17, 1919, the son of Charles Lee Hodnett and Etta (Bailey) Hodnett. He married Theo Coker in Shreveport, Louisiana, on January 20, 1940; she survives. Mr. Hodnett was a retired engineer for Texaco Oil Company and he was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was an ordained deacon. He served in the United States Air Force.
Other survivors include: daughter-in-law, Gloria Hodnett of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Tammy Denise Hill and Ann Renea Allen; step-grandson, Wayne Kimbrell; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Hodnett; eight sisters and three brothers. Memorials may be made to the Boys and Girls Club and/or First Baptist TV and Radio Ministry.
