Johanna Smith

Funeral services for Johanna Elaine Smith, age 86, of Hearst and formerly of Hopkins County, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, Brod Fred Lewis will offciate.

Interment will follow services in Restlawn Memorial Park, with Carey Crane, Corey Crane, Chris Magnuson, Vincent Basham, John Basham, and Joey Potts serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6:00 t0 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith passed away on Monday afternoon, April 20, 2009, at her residence. She was born in Hopkins County, in the Brinker Community, on March 9, 1923, the daughter of Harvey M. Smith and Emma F. Truelock Smith. She married Dural O. Smith, in Dallas, in January of 1986. He preceded her in death in 1997.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs.

Survivors include: two daughters, Vickie F. Wheeler of Hurst and Diane Ritchie of Sulphur Springs; a son, Carlton R. Crane of Arlington; eight granchildren, Carey Crane, Corey Crane, Chris Magnuson, Sondra Cornaud, Sarah Wiggins, Jamie Potts, Vincent Basham, and John Basham; and 1 great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Syble Mitchell.
