Joe Orren Sr.

A military graveside service, under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition, for Joe W. Orren, Sr., age 88, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at Stouts Creek Cemetery in Saltillo. Mr. Orren's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Joe W. Orren, Sr. passed away Tuesday morning, March 17, 2009, at Sunny Springs Nursing Home. He was born in Campbell, on March 11, 1921, the son of Loyd Orren and Myrtie (Wallace) Orren. He married Kathryn Avaritt in Mt. Vernon, on June 10, 1942; she survives. Mr. Orren was a retired heavy equipment operator with the Texas Department of Highways. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Saltillo.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Kathy Jo Alexander of Henderson, June Johnston of Sulphur Springs and Glenna Yates of Allen; two sons, Joe W. Orren, Jr. of Sulphur Springs and Milton Orren of Longview; grandchildren, Kristy Everitt, Todd Alexander, Erin Garcia, Jordan Ramey, Jared Ramey Jace Orren, Emily Orren, Clark Orren, Evan Orren and Olivia Orren; great-grandchildren, Collin Everitt, Abbey Everitt, Madalynn Alexander and Cason Garcia. He was preceded in death by son, Will Orren and brother Weldon Orren. Memorials may be made to the Hopkins County Military Coalition.
