Joe Moore

Funeral services for Joe Moore, age 85, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at League Street Church of Christ, at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 20, 2009, with Dr. Lynn Turner and Michael Moore officiating. Interment will follow at City Cemetery, with Dan Phillips, Michael Moore, Marlin Jones, Jeff Moore, Lawrence Bramblett, Dale Henderson, Joe Moore and Clyde Nichols serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jody Thompson, Randy Reed, Randy Clark, Bob Howell, Paul Harvey, Dr. Claude Reynolds, Dr. Charles Jones and Louie Woodall. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 19, 2009, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Joe Moore passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Paris Regional Medical Center. He was born in Sulphur Springs, on September 13, 1923, the son of Luther Albert "Dike" Moore and Marie (Kelty) Moore. He married Norene Palmer at Sulphur Springs, on October 10, 1945; she survives. Mr. Moore was retired from E-Systems and he was a member of League Street Church of Christ. He served in the United States Army/Air Force during World War II.
Other survivors include: daughter, Linda Moore Riddle; son, David Moore and wife, Sheila, all of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Michael Moore and wife, Kim, Jeff Moore, Linda Moore Henderson and husband, Dale, Joe Moore, Rebecca Riddle Bell and great-grandchildren, Haley Moore, Keely Moore, Kacey Moore, Ella Moore, Katelyn Henderson, Gareth Henderson and Gavin Henderson. Memorials may be made to National Rifle Association and/or League Street Church of Christ.
