Joe Hollingsworth, Jr.

A funeral service for J. C. Hollingsworth will be conducted at Eastridge Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 27, 2012. A graveside service will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, December 27, 2012. There will be no formal visitation. J. C. Hollingsworth passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Grace Presbyterian Village in Dallas. He was born in Clifton, Texas on November 24, 1917, the son of Joe Cleveland Hollingsworth and Ida (Schulz) Hollingsworth. He married Narce A. Owens. She preceded him in death in 1992. He married Alta B. Hicks; she survives. He was a retired mechanic and owner of Hollingsworth Garage and he was a member of Eastridge Baptist Church in Red Oak. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Other survivors include: son, Billy D. Hollingsworth and wife, Maggie of Harrison, Idaho; grandchildren, Jennifer Diehl, Melissa Landis and David Campbell; great-grandchildren, Vincent & Wesley Diehl, Brandon & Cassidy Landis and Landry Campbell. He was also preceded in death by daughter, Janie Campbell; brother, Oran Hollingsworth and sisters, Juanita McClendon, Martha Jean Sosbee and Ola Skidmore.
