Funeral services for Joe Travis Clem, 86,of Sulphur Springs will 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charles Duffey and Rev. Tommy Hall officiating. Military graveside services under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park with Brian Clem, Dustin Clem, Jobie Woolsey, Mike Wood, Jace Wood, and Mike Clem serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Lowe, Cecil Clem, and Barney Strawn. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Joe Clem passed Friday, February 4, 2011 at Carriage House Manor Nursing Home. He was born in Miller Grove on February 4, 1925 the son of Joel James and Cliffie Ann Wood Clem. He was a retired maintenance man for Helm Enterprises. He served in the United States Army during WWII.
Survivors include: son, Tim Clem and wife, Beth of Cumby; daughter, Crystal LeAnn Clem Woolsey and husband, Jobie of Aubrey; brother, Cecil Clem of Garland; sister, Lola McFadden of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Brian and Dustin Clem.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Olen Clem, Lovell Clem, and Leonard Clem and sister, Barbara Martin.
