Jo Ann Friddle Hurley passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, May 7, 2013 at home with her loved ones by her bedside after battling a long illness. She was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas where she met the love of her life, Marshall H. Hurley. They were married in Sulphur Springs on February 7, 1959. They had four children, three daughters, Vicki J. Kraemer (Mike), Pamela J. Hurley, Gayla K. Oaks (Randy) and one son, Monte H. Hurley (Robin). After moving for several years around different states with Brown & Root, they moved permanently to Sweeny and that have lived there for over 30 years. She was a homemaker and she always enjoyed taking care of the family and household. They have seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her family was the joy of her life. She loved to cook and have family over for special occasions. Traveling with her husband was something that she never grew tired of and cherished every trip they made together. She has now made the final trip of her life here on earth to be with her Lord and Savior never to be bothered with the things of this world again. She will be missed greatly by the surviving members of the family and friends but we know that, in a short while, we will meet again. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marlin "Pat" and Adell Friddle, her daughter, Pamela Jean Hurley and granddaughter, Mika Kraemer.
The family would like to acknowledge hospice for their compassionate care of Jo Ann and would like to extend a special thank you to Iris, Norma, Coty and Lilly.
