Funeral services for Jimmie Dean McKinney, age 85, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 13, 2008, with Brother Kenneth Rhoades officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Jeremy McKinney, Jimmy McKinney, Chris Holt and David McKinney serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2008, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Jimmie Dean McKinney passed away Monday afternoon, November 10, 2008, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Sulphur Springs, on August 10, 1923, the son of Morris and Allie Grubbs McKinney. He married Elizabeth Hart in Sulphur Springs, on December 26, 1947; she survives. Mr. McKinney was co-owner of Murphy Building Supply. He was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: two sons, Leldon McKinney of Houston and Terry McKinney of Holly Lake Ranch; grandchildren, David McKinney, Jeremy McKinney, Jennifer Holt and Jimmy McKinney and great-grandchildren, Paige Holt, Kaitlin Holt and Tessa Holt. He was preceded in death by sister, Grace Long.
