Jean Mebane

Funeral services for Jean Mebane, age 78, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2009, with Rev. Lee Huff officiating. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Vernon City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 21, 2009.
Jean Mebane passed away Sunday morning, September 20, 2009 at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab. She was born in Mt. Vernon on March 20, 1931, the daughter of John Foster and Mary (Rawlinson) Foster. She married Billy Mebane in Mt. Vernon. He preceded her in death in 1996. Mrs. Mebane was a retired seamstress for H. D. Lee Company and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include: son, John Mebane and wife, Sally of Canton; daughter, Molly Anders and husband, Ray, of Winnsboro; three sisters, Bertie Redar of Mt. Vernon, Bessie Hinkle of Austin and Geraldine Jackson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother, Layne Foster of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren; Ronny Mebane and wife, Jennifer, Heather Salazar and husband, Tyke and Ricky Mebane and great-grandchildren, Mykah Mebane, Kyndal Mebane and Bryce Mebane. She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
