J.D. Holder

Funeral Services for J.D. "Mutt" Holder, age 90 of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Bro. Darryl Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Emblem Cemetery with Ed McQueen, Stanley McQueen, Larry Cox, Thurman Littlefield, Jason Vaughn and Mackey Fouse serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Holder passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Rock Creek Nursing Home. He served in the U.S. Army; was a retired machine operator for Hopkins County and a member of the Posey Baptist Church.

He was born on October 28, 1925, the son of John and Annie Versey (Beadles) Holder. He married Maggie Fouse on January 6, 1959 in Cumby. She preceded him in death.

Survivors son, James Holder and wife, Tammy of Sulphur Springs; daughter, Melba Haley of Sulphur Springs and five grandchildren, Jacob Peugh, Candace Peugh, Traci Abron, William Holder and Dustin Holder.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother and four sisters.
