Her creativity shone through in the classroom, where she inspired countless students with her passion for learning.

Beyond her professional life, Jan was deeply devoted to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Morgan Pruitt and Wynna Lee Dyer Pruitt. She was a beloved Mimi to six grandchildren: Kye and Alaina Johnson; Ellie and Grace Johnson; and Molly and Lila Yoo.

Jan found immense joy in loving on her grandchildren, baking and cooking for those around her, quilting, gardening, and traveling. Her warmth extended beyond family—she was a friend to all who knew her. A consummate encourager, she had a gift for affirming others with kindness and unwavering support.

Faith played a central role in Jan’s life. She not only attended but actively participated in the ministry focus of every church family she was part of.
