Graveside service with Military Honors for James Sheffield, age 88, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2021 at Reilly Springs Cemetery with Bro. Jeremy Durig officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Mr. Sheffield passed away peacefully Saturday morning, June 5, 2021 at Carriage House Manor in Sulphur Springs.
James Sheffield was born October 2, 1932 to John Calvin Sheffield and Ethel (Payne) Sheffield in Sulphur Springs. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He married Beatrice Jeanette Keeling on July 28, 1951; she preceded him in death in 2007. Mr. Sheffield was an aircraft mechanic for Braniff Airways for 24 years and retired as a Dairy Farmer in Reilly Springs. He was a founding member of Seymore Bible Fellowship and loved Nascar racing. He was even a drag racer and a dirt track racer, himself.
He is survived by his son, Randy Sheffield and wife, Alice, of Euless; granddaughter, Lauren Melendez-Sheffield and husband, Bryan, of Irving; and great-grandchildren, Genesis Sheffield and Damian Melendez-Sheffield.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
