Graveside service with military honors for James “Jimmy” “Unc” Smith, age 67, of Sulphur Springs, will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at New Klondike Cemetery with Rogike Britton officiating and Kevin Putman, Louis Putman, Brannon Blankenship, Kurtis Putman, Mickey Williams, and Steve Slough serving as pallbearers. A visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Jimmy passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at his residence.

James “Jimmy” Unc” Smith was born February 19, 1951 in Commerce, TX, the son of Floyd Cobb Smith and Hazel (Bradford) Smith. He served in the U.S. Army and worked as a Mail Handler for the United States Postal Service.

Survivors include, nephews, Dallas Blankenship, Marty Moreland and Jerry Smith, Jr., and niece, Nancy Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Smith, Sr.; and sister, Betty Blankenship.
