Jack Bowen

Funeral Services for Jack McBride Bowen, age 65 of Como, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenpond Cemetery with Jimmy Barrett, Matt Brown, Jason Brown, Larry Satterlee, Shannon Bowen, Doug Baughman and Doug Brown serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Harris, Bryant Satterlee, Glenn Satterlee, Ben McGill and Carson Herron. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mr. Bowen died on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at his residence. He was a self-employed dairyman, truck driver and a member of the Greenpond Baptist Church.
He was born on January 27, 1949, the son of John Raymond and Winnie Fort Bowen in Hopkins County. He married Betty Jackson on July 27, 1968 in Pickton. She survives.
Other survivors include: son, Michael Bowen and wife, Amy of Como; daughter, Amy Herron and husband, Cary of Wolfe City; brother, Pat Bowen and wife, Deanna of Como; sisters, Margaret Martin of Tyler and Joann Buckner of Houston and four grandchildren, Breanna Bowen, Baylee Bowen, Cassidy Herron and Carson Herron.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Thelbert Bowen and Bobby Bowen; three sisters, Benthel Satterlee, Melba Sparks and Judy Brown.
