A funeral service for Iona Rosinbaum McCool, age 93, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at Greenview Church at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 10, 2013, with Brother Ronnie Miller and Brother Dave Gentry officiating. Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Iona Rosinbaum McCool passed away at Carriage House Manor, Monday evening, October 7, 2013. She was born in the Bonanza Community on February 21, 1920, the daughter of Arthur C. Rosinbaum and Lela Catherine (Sellers) Rosinbaum. She married Charlie J. McCool in Hopkins County January, 1943. He preceded her in death in 1981. She was a retired nurse and a lifelong member of Divide Baptist Church.
Survivors include: five sons, Jerry Ferguson and wife Carleen of Sulphur Springs, Jack Ferguson of Lancaster, Doug McCool and wife Larie of Sulphur Springs, Mark McCool of Texarkana, Arkansas and Ronny McCool of Brashear; two daughters, Phyllis Russell and Judy Pilcher and husband Jerry, all of Sulphur Springs; sister, Ima Jo Tracy of Mesquite; sister-in-law, Lucy Bengston of Georgia; 15 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Dayton Rosinbaum, Bill Rosinbaum and Troy Rosinbaum; three sisters, Mae Hammonds, Jewell McKay and Opal Kenner and son-in-law, Jerry Russell. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
