Hugh Wood

Funeral services for Hugh Anthony Wood, age 46, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 13, 2009, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, with Jeff Orwosky, Jeff Gideon, Bubba Jay Edwards, David Leewright, Daid Waller, Danny Waldon, Earl Cromer, Jeremy King, Huck McCormack and Sput McCormack serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Hugh Anthony Wood passed away in Wood County, Monday, August 10, 2009. He was born in Sulphur Springs, on December 29, 1962, the son of W. G. "Kayo" Wood and Gay Nell (Coker) Wood. He was a petroleum land man. He was a lifetime member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ and he was an Eagle Scout. He was also a member of the Sulphur Springs High School Class of 1981.
Survivors include: adoptive daughters, Kitney Nix and Kassidy Johnson, both of Greenville; mother, Gay Nell Wood of Sulphur Springs; brother, Duncan Wood and wife, Sarah; nephew, McClain Wood; niece, McKenzie Wood, all of Wichita Falls; adoptive grandchildren, Devin and Calleigh; numerous cousins; an aunt, Yvonne Spencer and an "uncle", Tracy Coker. He was preceded in death by his father.
