Hubert Lee

Graveside service for Bert Lee, age 82, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 10:00 A.M on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Como Cemetery.  There will be no formal visitation.  Mr. Lee passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Sunny Springs Nursing Home, Sulphur Springs.

Hubert Bert Lee was born in Como, Texas on March 22, 1938, the youngest of seven children, born to Walter Clayton Lee and Jessie Irene Cannon Lee. They have all preceded him in death.  He spent most of his life in Como.  He played on the Boys Softball team for Como High School, was active in the Future Farmers of America Chapter, and graduated from Como High School in 1956.  He married Barbara Joan Koontz Hodges on September 17, 1976 in Como, Texas.  Bert and Barbara were active members of Family Life Church, Sulphur Springs until her passing in 2004.  Bert continued to attend regularly and dearly loved reading his Bible.  He spent many hours going to nursing homes and reading to the residents.  He was a resident of Sunny Springs for five and a half years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
