Houston McIninch

Funeral service for Houston McIninch, age 85, of Mabank, TX will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with James Sanders, Shannon Tipton, Houston Lowrance, James Sanders, Jr., Randy Miller and Christian Armstead serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 13 from 6 to 8 P.M at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel. Mr. McIninch passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017 at ETMC Athens.

James Houston McIninch was born on April 22, 1932, the son of Jesse Lee and Ruby Bell (Butler) McIninch in Atoka, OK. He married Lillie Miller on August 28, 1951 and was married 65 years. Houston was a member of Prairieville Baptist Church, the Teamsters Union and drove trucks for A&P Trucking and Safeway.

He is survived by his wife, Lillie Joan McIninch; daughters, Sharon Horton, Karen Coker and husband Richard, Denise Davidson; sons, Ronnie McIninch and wife Regina, Doyle McIninch; grandchildren, James Sanders, Christy Armstead, Amanda Hignight, Scott Coker, Jason Coker, Amberlea Commino, Renee Hays, Jessica Little and Shannon McIninch; numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

Houston was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Vernon McIninch, Kenneth McIninch, Eugene McIninch, Harold Wayne McIninch, David McIninch and sister, Alice Emmert.
