Funeral services for Hazel Taylor, age 81, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 28, 2008, with Rev. John Pangle and Bro. Paul Pogue officiating. Interment will follow at Rockdale Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Hazel Taylor passed away at Carriage House Manor, Monday evening, November 24, 2008. She was born in Polk County, Arkansas on March 11, 1927, the daughter of Gatus & Annie Williams Fox. She married Elwin Taylor on August 16, 1944 in Hugo, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1993. Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: daughters, Goldie Rhodes, of Grand Prairie, Ann Smith, of Sulphur Springs, Dorothy Easley, of Sulphur Springs, Linda Campbell, of Birthright, Patricia Lopez, of Point, Wanda Godfrey, of Sulphur Springs, Sharon Normandeau, of Sulphur Springs, and Joyce Campbell, of Sulphur Springs; sons, David Taylor, of Sulphur Springs, Virgil Taylor, of Como, Roy Taylor, of Sulphur Springs, and Floyd Taylor, Sulphur Springs; brother, Harold Fox, of Hugo, OK; forty two grandchildren; fifty three great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Gene Taylor and James Taylor; one brother, George Fox; three sisters, Mandy Couch, Eula Johnson, and Faye Taylor; and one great grandchild, Emily Petrea.
