Haywood Taylor

Funeral Service for Haywood Shern Taylor Jr., age of 65, of Texarkana, TX will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday November 19, 2019 at Murray Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Shane Carrington officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Haywood Shern passed away on Friday, November 15, 2019 in Dallas.

Shern was born on July 14, 1954 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Haywood Shern Taylor Sr. and Genevieve White Taylor.

He is survived by his wife, Gay Taylor; daughter, Shonna Hawks of Jackson, SC and grandson Noah Hawks; daughter, Christy Anderson and husband Jonathan of Pilot Point, TX, grandson Stephen Richter and granddaughter Taylor Anderson; daughter, Melissa Authement and wife Amber of Texarkana, TX, granddaughters, Destiny Authement and Maranda Authement, grandsons, Seth Authement, Jayden Flowers, Damien Flowers and Alex Flowers, great grandson Easton Coffee; daughter, Shannon Nichols of Fort Worth, TX, granddaughter, Mercedes Mendez and grandson Neiko Mendez; daughter, Amanda Shipp of Texarkana, TX, granddaughter, Zaylee Dewitt and grandson Adrian Dewitt.

Shern was preceded in death by his parents, Haywood Shern Taylor Sr. and Genevieve Taylor.

He was a loving husband, father and Papaw. He would always say he loved his girls but loved his grandkids more.

Shern was an United States Army veteran, where he served in Frankfurt, Germany.He was a truck driver for XPO Logistics for 28 years. He would say he would retire one day, but that day never came. He was an avid football fan, he loved to cheer on The Army and his beloved Saints. He loved taking pictures with his girls and grandkids. He never met a stranger and everyone was always family. To his family, he was everything.
