A graveside service for Harriette Lowry, age 65, of Denton, formerly of Hopkins County, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Miller Grove Cemetery, with Rev. David Burns officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Noon), Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Harriette Lowry passed away at Denton Presbyterian Hospital, Thursday evening, May 21, 2009. She was born in Dallas, on October 24, 1943, the daughter of Francis W. Powell and Ruby Jo (Gaylor) Powell. She married Freddie Leon Lowry in Dallas; he survives. Mrs. Lowry was retired from Excelsior Legal Company and she was a member of the Baptist faith.
Other survivors include: daughter, Debra Favors; son, James Lowry; mother, Ruby Jo McKelvey of Sulphur Springs; three sisters, Mary F. Wiley of New Braunfels; Joan Garrett of Miller Grove and Linda Moody of Walnut Grove, Mississippi; two brothers, Jakey M. Powell of Bedford and Jack L. Powell of Weatherford; grandchildren, Veronica Favors, Amanda Crump and Allen Favors and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Simm Powell and sister, Marilyn Milke.
