Gloria Janette Joyce Carder, age 82, of Sulphur Springs will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 8, 2008, with Rev. Byron Houck officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Wood Cemetery, with Jeremy Sullivan, Jesse Aaron, Jonathan Keller, Will Kennington, P. R. Adams, and Bruce Aaron serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 10, 2008, at Morrison Funeral Directors Chapel in Dumas.
Gloria Janette Joyce Carder passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008, at her residence. She was born in Honey Grove, on September 25, 1926, the daughter of Ernest Marshall and Mary Jane White Joyce. She married Jesse Carder, Jr. in Dallas, on May 22, 1948. He preceded her in death in 1982. Mrs. Carder was a secretary with Contel Telephone Company and a member of First Christian Church in Dumas.
Survivors include: daughter, Susan Janette Cader Aaron of Sulphur Springs; brother, Bobby Joyce of Honey Grove; two sisters, Rosemary Joyce Bowlby of Grand Prairie and Myra Joyce Wirta of Paris; three grandchildren, Jeremy Sullivan, Mendi Green Kennington and Jesse Aaron; two step-grandchildren, Mandy Aaron Keller and Melissa Aaron; two great-grandchildren, Marcie Gilbreath and McKinzie Gilbreath; step-great-grandchildren, Lane Keller, Layton Keller, Abbe Keller, Jaden Price, Kinslei Smallwood, Alli Kennington and Kelsey Kennington. She was preceded in death by brother, Marshall Joyce. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
