Private Military Graveside Service for George Ray Hennigan, age 79 of Sulphur Springs, will be held with Rev. Brian Hennigan officiating. Interment following service with Michael Hennigan, Brian Hennigan, Brandon Hennigan and Mary Raye Hennigan as pallbearers.
Mr. Hennigan died on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at his residence. He was twenty years old when he joined the United States Air Force at Bryan, Texas A.F. B. He served during the Vietnam War and achieved very high standards in all of his endeavors whether it was a Fighter Pilot or as an Officer of the Air Force or in his civilian life. He retired as a full Colonel. His second career was the CEO of the chemical corporation of Kerr McGee in Oklahoma City. He was of the Methodist faith.
He was born on February 21, 1935 the son of George W. and Juanita Smith Hennigan in Monroe, LA. He married Roberta Evans on February 14, 1956.
Survivors include: his wife of 57 years, Roberta Evans; sons, Michael Ray and wife Ann and Brian Keith and wife, Toni; grandchildren, Eric Michael, Ryan Ross, Kurt William, Jayne Ann, Mary Raye, Brandon Keith, Gracie Kathleen, Travis Jeffrey; three great-grandchildren and sister, Jennifer Bailey and husband, Michael of TN.
Memorial can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
