Geneva Basye

A funeral service for Geneva Basye, age 81, of Cumby will be conducted at First Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 29, 2013, with Tommy Johnston and Rev. Mark Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at Long Cemetery, with Kevin Robison, Brent Robison, Alan Basye, Roger Mabe, Tom Howell and James Norris serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be E. A. Junell and The Hopkins County Military Coalition. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Geneva Basye passed away at her residence Wednesday afternoon, April 24, 2013. She was born in Cumby to Fred and Willie Long. She married Edmond Bayard Basye in Dallas on December 25, 1953; he survives. She was retired from Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas and a member of First Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: daughter, Cindy Robison of Blacksburg, Virginia; son, Alan Basye and Kellye of Sachse; grandchildren, Brent Robison, Kevin Robison and Lauren Basye and great-grandchild, Zoey Robison. She was preceded in death by brother, Alfred Long. Memorials may be made to Long Cemetery Association and/or First Baptist Church Building Fund, 116 Oak Avenue, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.
