Gene Orwosky

Funeral services for Gene Orwosky, age 80, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2012, with Rev. Tommy Hall, Rev. B. J. Teer and Rev. Bruce Stinson officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, with Keith Bland, Gene Watson, Tim Kelty, Joe Mack Gober and David Davis serving as pallbearers. Honoray pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2012 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Gene Orwosky passed away Friday morning, January 13, 2012 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Shalavoy, Michigan, the son of John J. Orwosky and Beatrice H. (Walker) Orwosky. He was the founder and owner of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home from which he retired. He was citizen of the year in 1981 and involved in many other civic organizations and activities. He served in the United States Air Force.
Survivors include: daughter, Laura Garrett and husband, Randy; three sons, Bill Orwosky, John Orwosky and Jeff Orwosky and wife, Sue; grandchildren, Chiree Garrett, Myndi Wells, Darbi Orwosky, Jack Orwosky, Price Orwosky, Austin Orwosky and Lincoln Orwosky and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Bea Orwosky.
