Gene Brown

Funeral service for Gene D. Brown, age 80, of Como will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Como with Brother B. J. Teer officiating. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers, with Great grandchildren serving as Honorary Pallbearers. Visitation is scheduled for one hour before the service at the church.
Gene Brown died Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Mission Manor Nursing Home in Mt. Vernon. He was born in Fulton, AR., on December 25, 1933 the son of James Woody Brown and Georgia Taylor Brown. He was a retired from the United States Air Force and a former Deputy with the Hopkins County Sherriff's Office.
Survivors include: His wife, Alice Brown of Como, two sons Gene Brown, Jr. and wife Vaundalee of Dike and James "Jay" Brown and wife Kathy of Montalba; two brothers, James Woody Brown, Jr. of Texarkana and Irvin Blankenbaker and wife Patsy of Tucson, AZ; Eight grandchildren, Josh Brown, Matt Brown, Gene Brown III, Sevena Brown, Allen Ward, Heather Kelly, Michael Copeland and Angela Lachney; and seventeen Great Grandchildren and three Great Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
