Gay Wood

Funeral Services for Gay Nell Wood, age 75 of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2016 at Murray Orwosky Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Byrd officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Danny Waldren, Tommy Boyd, Tracy Coker, Kerry Coker, Kerry Kirkpatrick and Jeremy Keen serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wood died on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. She was a petroleum landman and had a degree from East Texas State University.

She was born on February 6, 1940, in Arbala, Texas, the daughter of T.G. "Gaylon" Coker and Juanita (Gammill) Coker. She married W.G. "Kayo" Wood on October 5, 1958 in Hugo, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 2004.

Survivors include: son, Duncan Wood and wife Sarah, of Wichita Falls; sister, Yvonne Spencer of Longview; brother, Tracy Coker and wife Brenda, of Pickton; grandchildren, Duncan McClain Wood, Harper McKenzie Wood, Kassidy Johnson and Casey, Kitney Nix and husband Kevin and their children Devin, Caleigh Jo and Leah, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Hugh Wood.

She will be greatly missed.
