A military graveside service under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition will be conducted at Miller Grove Cemetery at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2013 with Edggie Clements officiating. No formal visitation is scheduled.
Gary Reeves Darrow, a/k/a "Grumpy", was born March 21, 1941 in Miller Grove, TX to Boyd and Eula Mae Grayson Darrow. He went home to our Lord December 1, 2013 from Carriage House Manor. He was of the Methodist faith.
His family moved to Dallas when he was young and Gary returned to Miller Grove Community in 1990 to take care of his ailing parents.
He served in the U. S. Navy from 1958 - 1962 where he began his welding career and was honorably discharged. He married Eileen Duke November 16, 1963 in Durant Oklahoma.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Sean Alan Hood in 2007. He is survived by his caretaker and ex-wife, Eileen Darrow; two children, Shannon Darrow Clements and her husband Edggie of Brashear, TX and Gary "Keith" Darrow and his wife Kimberly of Forney, TX; one sister, Margaret Darrow Cain and husband Ernest of Emory, TX; four grandchildren, Brandy Hood Anderson of Mesquite, TX, Brandon Keith Darrow and Gary Ryan Darrow of Forney, TX and Ashley Ann Clements of Sulphur Springs, TX; three great-grandchildren, Kason Anderson, Bella Anderson and Mason Clements; two nephews, Michael Cain of Plano, TX and Jamey Cain of Colorado and several great-nieces and nephews.
