Flora Bowden

Graveside service for Flora Bowden, age 97, of Richardson, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2025 at Long Cemetery, Cumby, Texas with Dr. Myron Johnson officiating. Ms. Bowden passed away at Methodist Richardson Medical Center on Monday, January 13, 2025.

Flora J. Bowden was born on April 29, 1927 in Cumby, Texas to Harvey A. and Louis (Lee) Preston. She married Michael Bowden in Dallas, Texas on August 6, 1966. They were happily married for over 47 years until his passing. Flora retired from JC Penney, Inc. where she sold cosmetics and won numerous awards. She was an active member of the Dallas Bible Church and its Women’s Bible Study Group where she met many friends. 

Flora is survived by her daughters, Trennis Peters and Janis Carreon of Dallas, Texas; and sister, Laura Preston Henderson of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Lois Preston; husband, Michael Bowden; brothers, Troy Preston, Derrel Preston, Paul Preston, and Joe Preston; and sister, Helen Fry.
