Fay Smith

Funeral services for Fay Smith, age 86, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2009, with Keith Kilmer officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, with Robert Sires, James Ray Smith, Jarred Smith, Anthony Smith, Tommy Kirkham, Frankie Wood, William Wood and Bobby Luther serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Fay Smith passed away at her residence Monday morning, June 29, 2009. She was born in Sulphur Springs, on September 7, 1922, the daughter of Frank W. Wood and Mary Lee (Darlin) Wood. She married Odie Smith in Sulphur Springs, on September 6, 1941. He preceded her in death in 2004. Mrs. Smith was a retired beautician and farmer. She was a member of League Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include: son, Dr. Tony Gene Smith of Sulphur Springs; sister, Betty Pearson of Foster, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Jennifer Hawkins of Lindale, Jeana Penny of Sulphur Springs, and Shyanne Smith; grandson, Tanner Smith, both of Henderson and great-grandchildren, Hanna Hawkins, Gracie Hawkins, Trinity Hawkins, Bryce McQueen and Emmy Penny. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lela Mae Tennison, Mary Louise Johnson and Mandy Lou Sires and brother, D. W. Wood.
