Evorine Alford

A funeral service for Evorine Alford, age 85, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at First Baptist Church, Spence Chapel, at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2013, with Rev. Mark Bryant and Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at New Pickton Cemetery, with Jason Sloan, Harrison Hoffman, Scott Dixey, Steve Hoffman, Mike O'Dell and Jimmy O'Dell serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be The Joy Class of First Baptist Church. No formal visitation is scheduled.
Evorine Alford passed away at Prestonwood Health & Rehab. in Plano, Sunday morning, December 8, 2013. She was born in Pickton on September 27, 1928, the daughter of Jim O'Dell and Clara (Randolph) O'Dell. She married James A. Alford in Pickton on May 31, 1947. He preceded her in death. She was a retired administrative assistant for Wright Titus Insurance and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: daughter, Nancy Alford Poole-Dixey and husband Scott of The Colony; grandchildren, Holly Hoffman and husband, Steve and Jason Sloan; former granddaughter-in-law, Nancy Sloan; great-grandchildren, Haley Hoffman, Harrison Hoffman and Presley Sloan. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert O'Dell and J. L. "Boy" O'Dell.
Memorials may be made to the Scottish Rite Hospital.
