Evelyn Rasure

Funeral services for Evelyn Rasure, age 86, of Sulphur Springs, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel. Shane Carrington and Noel Bailey will officiate.

Interment will follow services in Restlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Justin Neal, Jason Neal, Mike Neal, Scott Isham, Wally Hart, Pud Brice, Joe Rodriquez, James Waller, and Pat Potts.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at the funeral home.

Ms. Rasure passed away on Monday morning, March 31, 2008, at her residence. She was born on March 18, 1922, in Cripple Creek, CO, the daughter of Hansel and Mary McDonald Johnson. She married Jess "Shorty" Rasure, on October 19, 1940, in Dike, TX. He survives.

Mrs. Rasure was a homemaker and member of the Dike Church of Christ.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Gayle Christoper, of Houston; a son, Ronnie Rasure of Berkley, CA; a brother, Billy Joe Johnson, of Houston; a granddaughter, Kimberley Paige Dillehay and husband Craig; and a great-grandson, Blake Dillehay.

She was preceded in death by one brother, James Hansel Johnson, Jr.
