Funeral services for Evelyn Glenn, 89, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Spence Chapel, with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Yantis Cemetery, with Charles Dawson, Kenny Joe Wallace, Larry Wallace, Tim Wallace, Tony Mabe, David Mabe, John Wright and Gerald Pike serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Radio Bible Class. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2012 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Evelyn Glenn passed away at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital Thursday morning, January 12, 2012 . She was born in Reilly Springs on January 18, 1922, the daughter of O. P. Wallace and Jessie (Williams) Wallace. She married Earl Glenn in Sulphur Springs on January 18, 1941; he survives. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church and the Radio Bible Class.
Other survivors include: son, Don Glenn and wife, Jane, of Yantis; brother, Robert Earl Wallace of Harlingen; two sisters, Sara Beth Hurley and Sandra Jean Goggans, both of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Stacy Glenn and Justin Glenn and great-grandchildren, Kendall Glenn, Logan Glenn, Faith Glenn, Everett Elder and Wilson Elder. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Judd Wallace, Woodbert Wallace and Kenneth Wallace and sister, Rebecca Morgan. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church.
