On Monday, March 3, 2025, surrounded by family, Evelyn "Nanny" Flecker Echeverio loving wife and mother to 14 children, became our guardian angel at the age of 92.

Interment will follow at Miller Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Ronald Flecker, Art “Son” Pratt, Jeff Krzypkowski, Michael Needham, Coeby Purser, Kevin Whillock, and Dylan Toon serving as pallbearers.

Nanny was born on December 25, 1932 in Melville, New York to Norman and Evelyn (Rosenthal) Chapman. Nanny married Ronald Flecker at the age of 17 and they were married for 33 years. They were blessed with eight children. Later in life, Nanny married Henry A. Echeverio and her blessings were expanded with six more children. Nanny and Henry had 34 adventurous years together.

Nanny was well known for being a human GPS. She frequented the Greyhound bus and traveled to all but four states. She enjoyed family time and was always ready for a celebration or party. She was talented in the kitchen and enjoyed cooking and baking. There was not a recipe she could not whip up. Also, Nanny had a love for games. Her competitive side would come out no matter what game she was playing-Spades, Pinochle, Skip Bo, or Texas Hold'em. Also, let's not forget her money box for the Casino or BINGO.

Nanny's greatest attribute was her loving, open heart. She never missed a birthday or anniversary with a card or phone call.

Nanny was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Evelyn Chapman; brothers, Norman, Wilbur, George, Roy, Billy, Joe, Jackie, and Paulie Chapman; husbands, Ronald Flecker and Henry Echeverio; son, Teddy Echeverio; grandchildren, Raymond Needham, Zoey Tingley, and Jarrod Flecker.

She is survived by her children, Carol Krzypkowski, Robert (Darlene) Flecker, Dennis (Lori) Flecker, Diane (Steve) Wood, Joan Bynum, Susan (Rich) McKeen, Gary (Scharleen) Flecker, Bryan ( Lydia) Flecker, Rone (Shelley) Echeverio, Pamela (Howard) Echeverio, Landy Echeverio, Vickie (Roger) Echeverio, and Peter (Heidi) Echeverio; sister, Fran (Fred) March; but her biggest accomplishment was her 50 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great grandchildren with two more on the way. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Miller Grove Cemetery.
