A funeral service for Evelyn Campbell, age 84, of Como will be conducted at Elm Ridge Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013, with Rev. Jim Boyte, Rev. Dennis Campbell and Rev. Vern Hawkins officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Halls, Tennessee on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., with Stan Dickey, Brad Flowers, Robert Frewilling, Darrell Matthews, Carl Mathison and Rev. Rick Higgins serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Evelyn Campbell passed away at Trinity Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler. She was born in Lauderdale County, Tennessee May 26, 1928, the daughter of Aulsie Gean and Lillie Mae (Greer) Gean. She married Marion Moore Campbell in Hernando, Mississippi on June 1, 1946. He preceded her in death in 2000. She was a homemaker and a member of Elm Ridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include: daughter, Joyce Cupp and husband, A. D., of Saltillo; son, Rev. Dennis Campbell and wife, Betty, of Trumann, Arkansas; sister, Madia Hall of Memphis, Tennessee; brother, Bobby Gean and wife, Joyce, of Merrillville, Alabama; grandchildren, Denise Schumpert, Andrea Joslin, Eddie Schumpert, Kathy Boyte, Lindsey Campbell, Sarah Campbell, Christopher Gladding and Willie Craig; 14 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brother, Billy Gean; grandson, Jeff Cupp and great-granddaughter, Amy Dawn Scott and great-grandson, Aiden Rindon.
