Estelle Owens

Funeral services for Estelle Owens, age 82, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Doug Barker officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, with Dean Owens, Dale Owens, Frank Shaw, Larry Owens, Mike Shaw and Joshua Davis serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Owens and Ryan Chaney. Visitation will held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Estelle Owens passed away Thursday morning, December 3, 2009, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Merkel, on June 30, 1927, the daughter of Alvin Brown and Annie (Walker) Brown. She married Coy Owens in Merkel, on May 24, 1949; he survives. Mrs. Owens was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God Church.
Other survivors include: son, Coy Lynn Owens of Rochester, Minnesota; two daughters, Deborah Davis and husband, Gary, of Sulphur Springs, Janice Barker and husband, Doug, of Wichita, Kansas; three brothers, G. W. Brown of Lubbock, Estel Brown of New Mexico and Burl Brown of Beaver, Oklahoma; sister, Bina Shaw of Pampa; grandchildren, Ryan Chaney, Chelsie Chaney, Joshua Davis, Heather Morris and Cesile Owens and great-grandchildren, Grayson Chaney and Olivia Chaney. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Scotty Owens and Cherie Owens and brother, Durl Brown.
